SPORTS & REMEDIAL MASSAGE & COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
Hi I'm Tanith
I practise Sports & Remedial Massage and a range of complementary therapies from my clinic based in Hay on Wye, Herefordshire /Powys.
Health and Wellbeing is a passion of mine; my work goal is to help you out of pain, help you to manage your muscles better and also work on posture, stance and balance.
I literally fell! into this line of work, I became fascinated how one small injury can have such an impact on balance and posture, and so my passion for body mechanics began.... Over the last six years I have trained and qualified in Sports and Remedial Massage, Posture work, different disciplines of Relaxing and Wellbeing Massage and also Reflexology.
I practise Sports Massage Therapy in Hay on Wye, Herefordshire and Powys for
• Sports and Repetetive Strain Injuries
• Sports Events Support (Pre and Post Treatments) - suitable for cycling, hockey, football and rugby clubs.
• Rotator Cuff, Frozen Shoulder, Tennis Elbow.
• Postural Problems, Glutes, Quads and Hamstrings
• Other General Muscular Complaints, Strains and Soft Tissue Injuries
Remedial Massage - helps to 'remedy' and alleviate general aches, pains and back pain and is ideal for when you overexert during exercise, gardening, sports activities or simply tweaks and twinges. This is also great for treating postural imbalances and the associated muscle strains, helping you to relax the stressed areas and bring your body back into correct balance.
When you are receiving more than one treatment, we can discuss and create a treatment plan for you designed to meet your specific needs, this is, of course flexible, depending on how your treatment progresses.
Where relevant, depending on the reason for your visit, I can provide you with information on appropriate stretches and exercises designed to help you take control of your own recovery.
My complementary therapies include:
Reflexology, Energy Therapies, Holistic Facials and Relaxing Massage.
I am able to offer you various different approaches to your wellbeing, from one to one skin consultations, holistic facial treatments to natural body oils to help relax, de-stress you and enhance your overall wellbeing: . .
Weleda Wellbeing Massage
This treatment is a variation of Weleda's Rythmic Massage. This treatment uses the lemniscate massage technique to bring about relaxation and calm. Using natural Weleda Oils and Scents I can tailor the treatment to your individual needs.
Treatment involves Back Neck Shoulder, Arms and Facial massage including acupressure points on the head and some aspects of Indian Head Massage.
Warm Bamboo Massage - This warming deep tissue massage uses different lengths of warmed natural bamboo cane to provide uniform heat and pressure on tired and aching muscles. The heat relaxes the muscles and the pressure rolls away knots and adhesions. This is good for lower back pain, and the heat and warmth can help relax and mobilise stiffened joints.
Energy Therapy - This can be done with the client fully clothed, I hover my hands over the energy centres of the body, this can bring about a profound sensation of calm and quietening.
I offer relaxing massage, deep tissue massage and reflexology at Cosy under Canvas and Poston Mill - with preferential rates for campers, simply email me for appointment times.
I am able to offer a mobile service for my therapies upon request. This may incur a fee depending on the distance travelled. Please ask when booking your appointment.
Some of the areas I will travel to include; Clifford, Hardwick, Winforton, Whitney on Wye, Dorstone, Llanigon, Three Cocks, Glasbury, Llowes - If you live further afield, I am available at independent clinics in Hereford City and Talgarth - just let me know and I will schedule your appointment at the most convenient centre for you.
Reflexology is an ancient healing technique that uses acupressure points to help harmonise the whole body and aims to restore balance and energy flow. Reflexology can be carried out on either your hands or your feet and is a popular healing technique that can have a positive effect on your health in many ways.
It is a safe, preventative and natural therapy suitable for most people that can promote a sense of deep relaxation by clearing away blockages in the flow of energy
The reflex areas found on the soles, sides and top of the feet correspond with all parts of the body.
The benefits of reflexology can be to:
During your first visit I will carry out the consultation along with treatment, it will normally take up to one hour for this first visit and consultation. Subsequent visits will last around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
I have a specialist reflexology chair in which you can recline and relax in comfort while I work around the specific pressure points on your feet and lower legs.
